By Helen Walter Publisher Comments: Quilling, or paper filigree, is the art of rolling thin strips of paper into different shapes to form delightful touches for greeting cards, gift wrappings, and decorative boxes. The 40 floral quilling designs offered here are specially selected for their adaptability to these applications. Delicate versions of climbing wild sarsaparilla, passionflower, bougainvillea, foxglove, and bottlebrush, as well as many varieties of orchid and cacti are presented. Only basic household cutting tools are needed, along with 1/8-inch-wide paper strips, objects to wind the strips around and glue. The simple cutting and winding techniques are clearly shown, and feature basic styles and shapes such as coils, teardrops, diamonds, triangles, and stars. |
